Ming Ming + Keung

by Stephanie Dana

Woke up around 6am at the Groom’s house.

A lot of older people do Tai Chi in the morning.

The bride got ready at a Hotel nearby.

The girls were getting ready for the games.

The groom and the groomsmen have to do what the bridesmaids say in order for the bride to be released.

The first tea ceremony with Ming Ming’s family.

Then we went back to the Yue house to do a tea ceremony with Keung’s family.

All my red pockets! Around 4pm we headed over to the reception…

People come early, mostly the older people and they play mahjong, and drink tea, and gamble.

My friends!

10 course meal, the eyes had lights that glowed. My 10 course meal was all vegan/veg, I only ate a few courses, so much food.

These are not posted out of order, there they cut the cake before the ceremony.

They hired a lawyer to officially marry them.

Ming Ming + Keung before the wedding

by Stephanie Dana

Ming Ming putting money into the red pockets, I love her jeans, so cute.

My special invitation, the only one that is in English.

The morning of the wedding I woke up early to start shooting. These images were taken between 1 and 3am.

New mattress, and new red sheets.

The bed had lotus seed candies, and red pockets and other things for a good marriage.

Maggie and I headed over to the hotel to take some pictures of Ming Ming.

I went back to sleep for a few hours…more pictures of the actual wedding to come soon.

Cathleen + Connor

by Stephanie Dana

From the moment Cathleen and I started talking on the phone about her wedding I could not wait to shoot it.  She is by far the sweetest, most thoughtful, selfless bride I have ever meet. No wonder Connor loves her! I knew Connor had to be cool because he is vegan! Their wedding was a personal, intimate, beautiful little celebration at the Pelican Inn, near Muir Beach.

Breakfast mood lighting.

The morning after the wedding at 7am, all of their friends got up to walk down to the beach to take some informal pictures. Five minutes into the walk it was sprinkling which turned into full on rain and wind. It was so cold and everyone was completely soaked!

I love her playfulness and positive attitude, she could have cared less that it was raining!
