Batu Caves

by Stephanie Dana

The Batu Caves have many little temples where you can have a traditional blessing from high priests. One priest blessed me and said ” very good luck”  as he put the powder on me to symbolize the third eye of the lord Shiva.

Batu caves have 272 steps, we took sort of zig zag route because Maggie did not want to be near the monkeys.

Malaysian Rainforest

by Stephanie Dana

We hired a driver to take us to the rainforest.

Just like in the movie Avatar.

This is a special tree, it does not like the other tree to touch it. If they do touch the leaves fall off creating small gaps and interesting patterns.

It was so hot, and we were soaked with sweat. We are wearing our sweaters so that we do get bitten by the mosquitoes.

Walking on the planks high above the canopy of the forest.

It was close to 100 degrees in the rainforest, these kids swam in their clothes, they have another set of dry clothes for later.
